Statement of the Ahlulbayt World Assembly
On Dissolution of Bahrain’s Islamic Council of Ulema
يُرِيدُونَ لِيُطْفِؤُوا نُورَ اللَّهِ بِأَفْوَاهِهِمْ وَاللَّهُ مُتِمُّ نُورِهِ وَلَوْ كَرِهَ الْكَافِرُونَ
Bahrain’s Al-Khalifa regime continues to stimulate feelings of Muslims with its brutal crimes, sectarian measures, and desecration of holy categories. Rulers of Bahrain are trying to put out divine light – in vain, of course – through barbaric acts such as destroying Shiite mosques, arresting clerics, restricting religious ceremonies, and closing the mouths of those who speak for the cause of promotion of Allah’s Word and unity of Muslims.
The very last irresponsible and sectarian act of Bahraini government was to dissolve Bahrain’s Islamic Council of Shiite Ulema (Clerics) and confiscate its properties by the verdict of a puppet court affiliated to the ruling regime.
Bahrain’s Islamic Council of Ulema is an institution, well known as an active religious, intellectual and rational group consisting of Shiah Jurisprudents, scholars, and thinkers in the Islamic Seminary (Hawza) of Bahrain, headed by “Ayatollah Sheikh Isa Kassim”, who is a shining sun in the sky of Bahrain.
The Ahlul Bayt World Assembly condemns the imprudent, sectarian act of Bahrain’s rulers and urges all zealous Muslims, scholars, intellectuals, lawyers, politicians and free people all over the world to support the oppressed nation of Bahrain, who are enduring the tyrannical pressures of their government in the shadow of mass media’s silence and apparent collusion, through following ways:
1) Ask Grand Ayatollahs, prominent scholars, and all who are present at academic scenes to adopt serious stance in condemning the obstinate and unjust actions of Al-Khalifa regime;
2) Issue statements, condemning and opposing the dissolution of Bahrain’s Islamic Council of Ulema;
3) Organize rallies and demonstrations against Bahraini embassies in different countries.
In the end, we beseech Almighty Allah to punish the oppressors, help the oppressed, and protect Islam and Muslims.
وَسَيَعْلَمُ الَّذِينَ ظَلَمُوا أَيَّ مُنقَلَبٍ يَنقَلِبُونَ“And they who act unjustly shall know to what final place (of punishment) they shall turn back
