Autumn fair sets new record with 200000 visitors

A RECORD number of more than 200,000 shoppers is thought to have visited the 26th edition of the Bahrain Autumn Fair 2015.

The figure shows an increase of five per cent compared with 2014.

The fair, organised by the Arabian Exhibition Management at the Bahrain International Exhibition and Convention Centre, attracted an average of 22,200 visitors daily.

The nine-day exhibition opened on January 21 and ended on Thursday.

The Bahrain Exhibition and Convention Authority said in a statement that more than 27,000 people visited the venue on Wednesday, bringing the overall number over eight days to 173,000 shoppers.

The fair is Bahrain’s largest and most popular annual consumer products exhibition, held under the patronage of Industry and Commerce.

It covered 15,400 square metres and attracted a record 131 Bahraini companies which showcased their products alongside 750 exhibitors from Bangladesh, China, Egypt, India, Kuwait, Lebanon, Malaysia, Oman, Pakistan, Poland, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Syria, Thailand, Tunisia, Turkey, the UAE and Yemen.
