Bahrain Airshow booth a success

Manama, Jan. 25 (BNA): Crowds of visitors flocked to the Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC) booth at therecently-concluded 2016 Bahrain International Airshow (BIAS) staged at the Sukhair Airbase.
High-ranking officials from different ministries and other state officials visited the committee’s section of the three-day event, which was organsied for the fourth successive time.

Among senior visitors of the booth were Information Affairs minister Isa Al Hammadi, BOC board member Shaikh Ali bin Khalifa Al Khalifa and Isa Abdulrahim, BOC general secretary Abdulrahman Askar.

Offering booklets and other publications on the programmes, activities and achievement of the BOC, the committee also took this opportunity to promote the third edition of Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa Scientific Research Award in the field of sport, in addition toits conditions, criteria and goals.

“The committee’s participation at the BIAS 2016 was in line with its strategy to activate community partnership with various government and private parties in an attempt to promote the role of the committee in the Bahraini community and expanding recreational sports to foster national sports culture,” said Askar.

BOC general secretary Abdulrahman Askar said he was pleased with the feedback of the visitors on the committee’s booth, and congratulated the kingdom’s leadership on the success of this year’s edition of the airshow as a whole.

He said the success of the Kingdom in hosting the airshow this year reflects its ability to embracethe most prestigious events with the support of the nation’s leadership and the esteemed government to put the Bahrain on the global map.

The BOC general secretary also commended the great efforts of the organising committee of the event, headed by His Majesty the King Personal Representative Shaikh Abdulla bin Hamad Al Khalifa.
