Bahrain has finalised lists of pensioners eligible for the newly-introduced pay rises, following directives from the Prime Minister.

Those with pensions below BD700 will get a monthly rise of BD75 and those with salaries between BD701 and BD1,500 will get BD50 – backdated to January – once the budget bill is ratified.

New pensioners will also receive the payout in addition to the BD75 introduced two years ago, General Organisation for Social Insurance chief executive Dr Zakariya Sultan told our sister paper Akhbar Al Khaleej.

He said a number of decisions have been issued aiming to unify pension benefits in public and private sectors and more laws are yet to be issued to this effect. – TradeArabia News Service
