Jeddah, July 8 (BNA): Chief of Customs Affairs Shaikh Mohammad bin Khalifa bin Ali Al Khalifa has led Bahrain’s delegation to Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, to participate in the 12th GCC Customs Union meeting.

The meeting discussed a number of topics related to customs affairs, chiefly the preparations for the joint meeting to be held between GCC customs chiefs and the private sector representatives, which will discuss the facilities required to be offered by the private sector that will contribute to supporting GCC states’ national economy.

The meeting also discussed the added value tax collection by customs administrations of Member States.

The participants agreed to the request submitted by the United Arab Emirates on rescheduling the launch of the Direct Automatic Transfer System until October 2015.
