Bahrain pays tribute on Women’s Day…

MANAMA: Bahrain will pay tribute to women in recognition of their landmark achievements and contribution to national development.

This marks the sixth Bahraini Women’s Day, which falls today.

A ceremony will be held on Wednesday at Bahrain National Theatre under the theme “Women and Media”.

Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, wife of His Majesty King Hamad and Supreme Council for Women (SCW) president, will patronise the celebration.

“It is an occasion to express gratitude to women for their achievements on all levels,” she said.

She paid tribute to His Majesty for his directives to enforce equal opportunities on the ground – in conformity with the constitution which stipulated women’s right to take part in public life alongside men.

Princess Sabeeka commended public and private establishments for promoting the culture of equal opportunities and affirmed the SCW’s resolve to ensure more gains for women as part of projects that integrate their needs.
