Bahrain, Sudan cut relations with Tehran

Sudan and Bahrain are now also severing their diplomatic ties with Iran. Sudan is expelling its Iranian ambassador from the country, while Bahrain has ordered its Iranian diplomats to leave the tiny island kingdom within 48 hours.

Bahrain is making the move because of Iran’s continuous interference in the affairs of the kingdom, and also of the Gulf Cooperation Council. Bahrain and Sudan’s decision to cut ties with Iran follows a similar move by its ally Saudi Arabia.
