Bahraini-Iraqi historic relations lauded

Manama- Oct31(BNA)Iraqi Minister of Tourism and Antiquities Liwa’ Smaisim today commended deep-rooted historic relations bonding his country with the Kingdom of Bahrain.
In a press conference held today, he revealed that Iraqi minister of foreign Affairs would soon visit Bahrain. Speaking on the sidelines the 13th session of the Arab Tourism Ministers’ Executive Council, he described the upcoming visit as reflecting strong relations bonding the two countries.

He stressed cooperation between the embassies of both countries regarding Bahraini visitors to the religious sites in Iraq. ” The number of Bahraini citizens who visited the holy shrines in Iraq last year topped 37,000″, he said, expecting the number of visitors to jump to 100, 000, thus reflecting the efforts being made. Iraqi Minister of Tourism and Antiquities Liwa’ Smaisim lauded Bahrain for its resolve to bolster cooperation.
