Think Pink Bahrain and Al Zain Jewellery have teamed up for a fifth year to raise awareness for breast cancer by selling exclusive custom-made bracelets meant to bring ‘Hope’ to people everywhere.

The Hope bracelet campaign first came to life five years ago when Samar Al Gosaibi participated in the Think Pink initiative and the launch of October’s International Breast Cancer Awareness month.

Shortly afterwards Noora Al Zain, 23, joined the family jewellery business and began to work with her mum, Samar, on creating the popular charm bracelets as their touch of kindness and support.

Noora, from Saar, said: “We live in a world where people are going through challenging times. My mum and I have seen many cases where our loved ones have been affected by cancer and being able to support and raise awareness for something that helps support women in this part of the world is really dear to us.

“Breast cancer is the most common type of cancer found in women across the Middle East. In fact, 70 per cent of breast cancer is not diagnosed until a very late stage. Early detection and treatment can make a significant difference when it comes to survival rates.”

The two draw inspiration from each other and the different themes created by the Think Pink team. This year, the bracelet not only helps raise awareness but falls in line with Think Pink Bahrain’s mission of ‘early detection saves lives’. All proceeds from the bracelets will help support its Education Fund.

Noora said: “This year’s campaign is all about supporting women and therefore we have created the HOPE bracelet in recognition of our fifth anniversary, distinguished by five Rose Quartz stones, a symbol of our continued love and support.

“We hope to inspire women with strength, love and support. We aim to increase the awareness of early detection in this part of the world and allow women to gain the courage to face the things that they are afraid of.”

The bracelets, priced at BD50, are available in all Al Zain stores in Bahrain in Yateem Centre, Moda Mall, Seef Mall and Bahrain City Centre.
