Customs President Attends Brussels Meeting

Brussels-June30(BNA) Customs President Shaikh Mohammed bin Khalifa Al Khalifa headed the Bahraini delegation to the World Customs Organisation (WCO) meetings in Brussels from June 24 to 29.


The delegation took part in the 69th meeting of the WCO’s General Policy Committee. Bahrain, together with Saudi Arabia and Morocco, represents the MENA region in the organization. The Customs President also took part in the coordination meeting of MENA Customs Directors and Presidents.

During the visit, he also had a meeting with WCO General Secretary Kunio Mikuriya and congratulated him for his re-election as the General Secretary for the next five years. He also presented Mr Mikuriya with a commemorative gift. The two officials discussed the Customs Affairs’ keenness to obtain the WCO support in building its potential and programmes.
