Den dömde mannen hävdar att hans twitterkonto hade kapats. Men åklagaren står fast vid att mannen förolämpat profeten Muhammed och ledarna för de två Gulfstaterna.

Tillslaget mot mannen var ett av flera mot personer som uttryckt sig vad man tolkat som regimkritiskt på nätet. Och visar också på ett samarbete mellan Gulf-nationerna i jakten på oliktänkande, skriver nyhetsbyrån AP.

KUWAIT CITY: Kuwait’s court of appeals yesterday upheld a 10-year jail term against a Shia tweeter for remarks deemed offensive to Prophet Mohammed (peace be upon him), his wife and companions.
