End to Syria bloodshed urged

MANAMA: Bahrain and Jordan last night urged a comprehensive settlement to end the bloodshed in Syria.

This came as His Majesty King Hamad held talks with King Abdullah of Jordan at Sakhir Palace in the presence of His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander.

The two leaders also discussed efforts underway to resume peace talks with the aim of reaching a settlement to the Palestinian-Israeli conflict.

They exchanged views on regional and Arab developments.

They also pledged to step up co-ordination and consultation over vital Arab and Islamic causes.

His Majesty praised the strong historic relations bonding both countries and people.

He congratulated King Abdullah on the legislative elections, wishing Jordan further progress and prosperity. He commended Jordan for its role in the establishment of the BDF as part of joint co-operation in all fields.

He paid tribute to King Abdullah for his efforts to promote bilateral relations and cement pan-Arab solidarity and joint work.

His Majesty also stressed the importance of consolidating co-operation between the GCC member states and Jordan.
