Finance minister attends GCC meetings

Doha, Nov.8 (BNA): The Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Financial and Economic Cooperation Committee held its 101st meeting this morning in Doha, Qatar. Finance Minister Shaikh Ahmed bin Mohammed Al-Khalifa led Bahrain’s delegation to the session which was attended by International Monetary Fund (IMF) Managing Director Christine Lagarde. The session discussed latest developments regarding the GCC Customs and Monetary Union as well as progress of work on the Common Gulf Market and the Judicial Economic Authority.


The minister also attended the joint meeting of the committee of the (GCC) governors of central banks and monetary institutions. The delegation included Central Bank of Bahrain (CBB) Governor Rasheed Mohammed Al-Miraj, Assistant Undersecretary for Economic Affairs Youssef Abdulla Humood, External Economic Relations director Sami Mohammed Hameed and other officials.
