HIGH HOPES FOR 2014

The old order changeth yielding place to new. We all welcome the New Year with high hopes for betterment – both in personal and professional lives. We make strong and solemn resolutions on the New Year Eve, which help us move forward, if not fully, atleast partially.

Honestly, residents of Bahrain have been passing through tough and turbulent times during the last three years. The government has been trying its best to counter terrorism, violence, vandalism and unfair protests. These have been thrust on us without any valid reason by people with selfish and vested interests, who claim to be fighting for the freedom and well being of the public.

In reality, there have been no real causes or concerns for such protests and demonstrations. There have been no human right violations in this island country.

The government and people of Bahrain have been fair, patient and reasonable, despite the hardships they have faced and losses they have suffered.

The government – under the able leadership of His Majesty King Hamad, His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Premier – has been demonstrating restraint and responsibilty and has showed great maturity in handling tough situations.

Such a farsighted approach has really yielded fruitful results: Protestors’ efforts to destabilise the government have been defeated.

We express our greatfulness and congratulations to the government. It is a remarkable achievement for which we, as residents of Bahrain, salute the King, the Premier, the Crown Prince, police personnel and all those who have given their heart and soul to ensure normal life goes on, despite all the hardships they had to face .

Now, as the New Year is ushering in, let us all sincerely hope Bahrain leaps forward to achieve more developmental milestones.

Man’s greatest assets are hope and patience which, we the people of Bahrain, have amply demonstrated.

May God give the good sense to all those who have unfortunately gone astray and inflicted great harm to this otherwise peace loving country, so that people can start leading lives bereft of tensions and fears.

Let there be no tyre burnings, road blocks, tear gas shots, school attacks , injuries to the public, damages to properties and most importantly – loss of precious lives from this New Year .
Let us welcome 2014 cheerfully with hopes for ensuring universal brotherhood.
Our New Year Greetings to one and all .
