HRH Premier receives GCC Transportation and Communications Ministers

Manama, Sep 30 (BNA) – His Royal Highness Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, Prime Minister, today at the Gudaibiya palace, received GCC Ministers of Transportation and Communications on the occasion of holding the 17th Meeting of the Ministers of GCC Transportation and Communications, whom conveyed greetings of GCC leaders and heads of governments and their wishes for the Kingdom of Bahrain to enjoy further progress and prosperity.


HRH Premier stressed the GCC accelerated developmental leaps have caught international attention and appreciation, thanks to the GCC leaders’ directives and heads of governments’ efforts, and further cooperation is required to achieve the Gulf Union that will maintain the sustainability of the development achievements, for challenges are increasing that necessitate the need to activate the initiative of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques to transform from the phase of Gulf cooperation towards Gulf Union.

He underlined the need for a collective action to tackle regional and global challenges facing the GCC development process, and the Gulf governments’ support to moving towards GCC Union.

HRH Premier underscored the importance of the Gulf transportation sector to support economic and social convergence, and pointed out to the establishment of GCC railway network that will boost GCC cooperation in the trade, economic, tourist and social fields.

He wished the meeting success and to reach decisions and recommendations that add a new enhancement for the Gulf Cooperation march.

GCC Ministers of Transportation and Communications paid tribute to HRH Premier’s visions towards bolstering prospects of Gulf cooperation and his wise directives for supporting the GCC joint action.
