International Day for 1948 Arab Rights marked

Manama, Jan.30 (BNA): A ceremony was held today in Bahrain to mark the International Day for Rights of the 1948 Arabs. The Bahrain Charity Society, Bahrain Society of Engineers, Bahrain Journalists’ Association and the National Institution of Human Rights co-organised the event in cooperation with the Palestinian Embassy in Manama.


The Foreign Ministry Undersecretary for Regional Affairs and the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Waheed Mubarak Sayyar also attended the commemorative ceremony at the Bahrain Society of Engineers headquarters.

Addressing the event, Palestinian Ambassador Taha Mohammed Abdul Qader paid tribute to Bahrain leadership and people for their unwavering support to the Palestinian cause.

Sayyar reiterated Bahrain’s unwavering support to the Palestinians’ inalienable rights which are stipulated in the resolutions of the United Nations, Arab League, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation and the Gulf Cooperation Council.

Bahrain Charity Society Secretary-General Dr. Hassan Kamal Ibrahim, NIHR Civil Rights Committee Head, Shura Council Second Deputy Chairman Jameela Ali Salman, BJA Chairman Moa’nes Al-Mardi, Rev. Hani Aziz of Bahrain’s National Evangelical Church and Dr. Abdulla Maqabi also addressed the event stressing support to the Palestinian Cause.
