Iran’s stance on regional issues is clear, logical: Leader

TEHRAN – Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution has stated that Iran’s stance on various regional issues, especially those related to Palestine, Bahrain, Yemen, Syria and Iraqi, are quite “clear and logical”.

Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei made the remarks on Wednesday while addressing a group of Basij commanders.

“We cannot remain indifferent in the face of the conflict between the camp of arrogance and the camp of values and independence seeking, and on this basis, the Islamic Republic of Iran’s stances on various regional issues, including Palestine, Bahrain, Yemen, Syria, and Iraq, are completely clear and logical,” the Leader said.

On the Palestinian issue, Ayatollah Khamenei said the main goal of the camp of arrogance is to put the Palestinian cause into oblivion.

“Despite all efforts of the camp of arrogance and even the support and collaboration of the Arab states, the Intifadha [uprising] of Palestine has begun in the West Bank,” said Ayatollah Khamenei.

“The media [of the arrogant camp] label the people, who hurl stones in protest against the occupation of their land and annihilation of their houses, as terrorists, while branding the acts of a certain group who has ruined the lives and reputation of Palestinians as acts of self-defense,” he noted.

“Is such an approach and outlook to the issue of Palestine a small mistake or injustice to be overlooked easily? We will continue to defend the Palestinian people’s movement in all possible ways and as long as needed.”

On Bahrain, the Leader stressed that the people of the Arab country demand nothing except the right to vote, criticizing the West that touts itself as an advocate of democracy for ignoring the Bahraini nation’s democratic demands.

The Leader also referred to insults and pressures being put on the people of Bahrain and their humiliation by a small group of unfair persons holding power.

“The minority tyrants are now so rude that they insult the sanctities and mourning rituals of the people of Bahrain during Moharram,” the Leader lamented.

On the ceaseless attacks against the oppressed people of Yemen, Ayatollah Khamenei said, “Under such conditions, the so-called advocates of democracy and human rights keep on attacking the people of Yemen.”

On Syria and Iraq, the Leader said, “The camp of arrogance supports the most merciless and savage terrorists in the two countries, and in Syria they insist that they themselves should specify the process of government formation. Who are you? Are you entitled to come to other parts of the world and decide on behalf of the people of Syria? Every nation itself should decide on the type of its government.”

Elsewhere in his remarks, Ayatollah Khamenei said Basij forces should prove that the stances the Islamic Republic has taken on Palestine, Syria, Iraq, Yemen, and Bahrain are the most logical ones any fair and wise country can take.

The Leader once again warned of the enemy’s plots to infiltrate into Iran via different tactics, saying that foreign elements try to make an inroad in disguise.

“Today, infiltrating into [political] currents is more dangerous than influencing individuals,” the Leader noted, adding that infiltrating into a political current means to build a network within the nation by spending money and banking on sexual attractions in order to change beliefs, ideals, views and lifestyle of the nation.

The Leader stressed that the issue of infiltration is a very serious one, noting that the claims that some intend to use the issue for their own interests will not reduce the seriousness of the threat.

He said those people who accuse Basij force of being radical are in fact completing the enemy’s infiltration project.

“Basij is among strong embankments [of the country], which should not be undermined,” Ayatollah Khamenei emphasized.

Elsewhere in the comments, Ayatollah Khamenei slammed the U.S. government as the “symbol of the arrogance’s hostility toward the Iranian nation.”
