Kim Kardashian has been enthusiastically tweeting about trip to Kuwait and Bahrain all week, but not everyone will be welcoming her with open arms.
The reality starlet, who is helping to open two new Millions of Milkshakes stores in the region, has come under fire from residents of the conservative countries, with many shunning Kim’s rise to fame via sex tape and her infamously short marriage to NBA star Kris Humphries.
“Her values clash with our traditions as a religiously committed people,” Mohammad Al Tabtabai, a Kuwaiti preacher, told the Gulf News. “Her visit could help spread vice among our youth.”
The Kuwait Times columnist Sahar Moussa also blasted Kim’s trip, writing, “I really hate judging people, and I do respect everybody’s business when it comes to their private life, but when it is someone like Kim Kardashian who is only known for her obscene movie, voluptuous derriere and fake reality TV show that shows nothing but low morals and a lot of plastic surgeries, then I have a problem.”
Nevertheless, the naysayers haven’t quelled Kim’s excitement completely.
“Can’t wait to see all my Kuwaiti fans today at Millions of Milkshakes!!!” she tweeted last night.
