Several Saudi borders with neighboring Gulf states were a scene of congestion on the first day of Eid.

The port between the Kingdom and Kuwait, in particular, suffered huge bottlenecks during the festivities, while the Salwa border port with Qatar experienced chaos in spite of the small number of travelers crossing over. Conditions at the Salwa port have declined since relations with Doha became strained.

The Al-Bathaa port between the Kingdom and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and the King Fahd Causeway between the Kingdom and Bahrain successfully countered traffic congestion on the first day of Eid.

Around 300,000 Saudis are slated to cross the border into the UAE during Eid.

Sources confirmed that the King Fahad Causeway between the Kingdom and Bahrain was on full alert after devising a comprehensive technological and manpower system to avert congestion.
