MANAMA: Real development in Bahrain can only be achieved by shunning terrorism and violence, the Premier said yesterday.
His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa made his remarks when receiving British Ambassador Iain Lindsay.
He affirmed that national powers who seek to bring about significant reformation should also work persistently to preserve the kingdom’s accomplishments, security and stability.
The Premier emphasised that doors are open to everybody in Bahrain, which is the homeland of every citizen, adding that despite challenges, “our priorities vis-ˆ-vis our country has never and will never change and will remain our absolute priority so that our people shall live in prosperity and in a secure and stable atmosphere which we will never say we are too busy to provide”.
He praised constantly growing bilateral co-operation between Bahrain and the UK.
He highlighted the government’s keenness to benefit from international and British expertise and know-how to develop administrative systems and support national companies.
The Premier praised the role of the British community in Bahrain and their contributions to the development process.
He said that Bahrain is looking forward to embracing more British investment companies in view of their contribution to bilateral relations.
The ambassador praised the support of the government in maintaining rapprochement and cohesion among citizens, pointing out that the reformative process is persistent and seriously ongoing “which we – the British – are eager to support.”
