Minister of State Pays Tribute to the Late Karima Zaidani

Manama, Mar. 31. (BNA) – Minister of State for Information Affairs and the Government’s Official Spokesperson Samira bint Ibrahim bin Rajab expressed sincere condolences and consolation on the sad demise of the late Bahraini media figure Mrs. Karima Zaidani who passed away today after a media career laden with creativity, giving and patriotism.


Mrs. Rajab said that the Bahraini and GCC media family has lost one of the pioneers of audio-visual media, one of the founders of Bahrain TV since its launch in 1975 and one of the main pillars of the Bahraini media renaissance over the past four decades.

She praised the honourable qualities and contributions of the late Mrs Zaidani in presenting news in Arabic and English, as well as talk shows, covering festival and conducting Radio and TV interviews and writing in “Huna Al Bahrain” magazine.

She added that Mrs. Zaidani stood witness of the landmark and civilizational achievements attained by the kingdom under His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa’s Reform Project.

She affirmed that the Late Karima Zaidani has always been a model of patriotism, competence, seriousness, dedication, good morals, respect, modesty and professionalism, which, she noted has earned her the love, appreciation and respect from all and was selected as Pioneer of Television Media during the First Forum for Women in the Media, hosted by the kingdom in 2008.

The Minister of State prayed to Allah Almighty to rest the soul of the late Mrs. Karima Zaidani in eternal peace and grant her family, relatives and colleagues patience and consolation.
