Nasser bin Hamad Show Jumping Championship held

Manama, Jan. 30 (BNA): Under the patronage of HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Representative of His Majesty the King for Charity Works and Youth Affairs, Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports and President of Bahrain Olympic Committee, HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa Showjumping Championship was held on Friday on the field of the Military Sports Federation in Al Raffa, Sakhir.

Local star Sami Ghazwan was able to win the title of the championship’s Grand Prix contest which consisted of two rounds with hurdle height of 120 – 130 Cm and course speed of 350 Metre/Minute. Sami Ghazwan finished in 52.97 seconds on the steed Ms. Aali. Riders Bassel Al Dossary and Ahmed Mansoor came in the second and third places of the contest respectively.

Sami Ghazwan also triumphed in the second advanced (adults) contest riding the same horse. He finished the round which consisted of hurdles height of 105 – 115 Cm and course speed of 350 M/M in 32.60 seconds. He was followed by riders Mohammed Abdulkareem and Muslim Ali who respectively won the second and third places, finishing in 34.74 seconds and 35.72 seonds.

In the first advanced round, riders Ali Isa, Muslim Ali and Sadiq Abbas came in the first three positions. The two-phase round consisted of hurdles height of 90 – 100 Cm and course speed of 350 M/M.

As for the juniors category, two contest were held for young riders. The first run included hurdles height of 80 – 95 Cm and course speed of 300 M/M and was dominated by Mayoof Al Rumaihi, finishing in 28.52 seconds, while the second contest consisted of hurdles height of 95 – 105 Cm and course speed of 300 M/M and went to rider Mustapha Dadallah, who finished in 39.04 seconds.
