Parsons has won a traffic consultancy services contract for the improvement of the Bahrain Gas Interchange in Bahrain.

The firm’s services will include feasibility studies, detailed design, and tender evaluation.

The Bahrain Gas Interchange is located between the Salmabad Interchange and Isa Town Gate Interchange, along the Sheikh Salman Highway.

It is one of the major traffic bottlenecks in the Kingdom, requiring prompt remediation.

The Bahrain Gas Interchange project includes the widening of the existing three-lane divided carriageway and a new grade-separated interchange.

Gary Adams, Parsons Middle East Africa (MEA) president, said: “The project is one of our customer’s priorities within their roads revamp strategic plan. Once completed, the interchange will improve traffic flow and reduce commute time issues.”

Parsons also recently landed a project in Oman to provide front-end engineering design (FEED) services for a 1.1-gigawatt (GW) solar thermal park
