Prominent Bahrain Activist ‘Arrested Over Tweets’

Sumaya Rajab, a prominent Bahrainian activist, has been arrested for writing about the torture of prisoners, according to his wife. Bahrain is a majority-Shi’ite country that was an early flashpoint for the Arab Spring but the country’s Sunni rulers forcibly put down the protests.

Rajab created the Bahrain Centre for Human Rights in 2002 and has been jailed several times since.
