RCO Secretary-General Highlights Bahrain’s Support for Syrian Refugees

Manama, Jan. 31. (BNA) – Following directives from the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Royal Charity Organisation (RCO) Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, RCO Secretary-General Mustafa Al-Sayad held a press conference in which he shed light on the kingdom’s support for the Syrian refugees, as well as its participation in the International Donors’ Conference for Syria, hosted yesterday by brotherly Kuwait.

Al-Sayad pointed out that during the Donors’ Conference, His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander, who participated in it on behalf of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, announced that the kingdom would donate $20 million to the distressed Syrian refugees, in line with Bahrain’s incessant efforts to support brotherly Syrians, in accordance with HM King Hamad’s directives in this regard.

He added that RCO delivered humanitarian relief aid to the Syrian citizens soon after the issuance of the Royal directives in order to alleviate their sufferings amid the appalling situation their country is going through.
