Shaikh Nasser and Bahraini riders win endurance race in France

Paris, June29(BNA) Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports (SCYS), President of Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC) and Bahrain Endurance Team Captain HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa successfully passed the final stage of the preoperational programme for the World Endurance Championship in Normandy.
HH Shaikh Nasser excelled in the 130 kilometer race in France yesterday, riding the horse Raja. HH Shaikh Nasser’s victory was accompanied by an excellent performance shown by Bahrain endurance team members, who reserved their spots on the podium.
Led by HH Shaikh Nasser, Bahraini riders endured the fluctuated weather conditions and finished the four stages of the race before the other contenders.
SCYS Chairman said that participating in the race reflects positively on team members and improve their international skills. He added that the race is considered an opportunity for riders to practice for the approaching world endurance championship in Normandy, France. HH Shaikh Nasser stated that female riders of the team also took part in the race to improve their experience in international events.
On his part, SCYS First Deputy Chairman, President of Bahrain Athletic Association and Al Khalidiya Stables Team Captain HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa affirmed that the victory will reflect positively on team members performance in the world championship.
Results
First position: HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, finishing in 05:32:46 time, at the speed of 23 kilometers.
Second position: Fahad Al Khatry, finishing in 05:33:45, at the speed of 23 kilometers.
Third position: Jaffar Mirza, finishing in 05:33:46.
