Tamkeen supports 36 companies in AlDana Expo 2013

The 3 day event, was held at the Gulf Hotel, from Thursday, June 27th to Saturday, June 29th.

The total contribution by Tamkeen to the benefiting companies totaled BD17,280, a significant increase compared to 2012 which saw participation from 28 companies with total contribution from Tamkeen reaching just over BD4,500. Most of the benefiting enterprises are owned by businesswomen.

Tamkeen Acting Vice President for Private Sector Support Mr. Mohammed Bucheery commented, “It is encouraging to see more business owners, particularly SME’s, becoming more innovative and shrewd in how they utilise these trade shows and exhibitions to maximise their exposure. Such events are the perfect platform to not only showcase products and services, but also to network, gain market insights, and build lasting business relationships.”

The ‘Tarweej’ scheme enables companies to gain wide exposure through local, regional, and international exhibitions. All eligible companies in Bahrain may benefit from the scheme, but need to apply one month in advance of the desired event.

Over 6,000 companies have been served through the various schemes under the Enterprise Development Support Programme umbrella, with total contribution from Tamkeen reaching BD33m. All companies in Bahrain may benefit from these schemes provided they meet the eligibility criteria.

In addition to ‘Tarweej’, it also includes ‘Istishara’ to assist in the strategic planning and determining vision and goals of the company, ‘Techania’ to provide support for the purchase of latest enterprise-related tools and equipment, ‘Jawda’ to assist in the design and application of world-class quality standards, ‘Tasweeq’ to support the creation and implementation of effective marketing and communications strategies, and the ‘Legal Services Support Scheme’, which provides access to a wide range of legal support services.
