Bahrain condemns Iranian flagrant interference

Manama, Dec 31 (BNA) – The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has condemned Iran’s interference in its domestic affairs, saying that it was both unacceptable and irresponsible.
“The Ministry of Foreign Affairs strongly condemns the recurrent interference of the Islamic Republic of Iran in its internal affairs, considering it an unacceptable and irresponsible conduct in regional and international relations,” the ministry said in a statement.

“It is also in total contradiction with the principles of the United Nations, the International Law and the Organization of the Islamic Cooperation, which all emphasize respect of states’ sovereignty and independence,” it said.
“he Ministry condemns the statement by the Iranian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mohammed Jawad Zarif, regarding investigations with a Bahraini citizen, involved in a number of illegal actions and violations.
“It considers such intervention as conflicting with international laws and norms and interference in a purely domestic affairs which the Public Prosecution is the sole responsible side to handle in accordance with the Bahrain law that is being enforced on all Bahraini people without distinction or discrimination and in total equity and law sovereignty to provide national security for all without exception.
“The Ministry reiterates that the recurrence of such unseemly statements, along with the political, religious and media instigation, will have a dangerous impact on stability and security in the Arabian Gulf region.
“It also expresses surprise and regret over Iran’s adoption of such hostile policies that steer it away from the concept of good neighbourliness with the countries of the region, urging it to look after the interests of the brotherly Muslim Iranians who suffer from flagrant violations of human rights and freedom of expression,” the Ministry said.
