UAE beat former Asian champions Iraq 2-1 in extra-time to emerge champions at the 21st Gulf Cup in a thrilling final in Bahrain on Friday. Substitute Ismail Al Hammadi buried the ball with a rasping shot in the left corner of the net in the 107th minute of extra time for the match winning goal. Demonstranter i Bahrain protesterar mot kungen och regeringen i landet. Enligt ögonvittnen är demonstranterna sunnimuslimer. Majoriteten av befolkningen i Bahrain är shiamuslimer. Polisen har arresterat flera demonstranter och beskjutit dem med tårgas och bedövningsgranater. Inga offer har ännu rapporterats. Frank Rijkaard is niet langer de bondscoach van Saudi-Arabië. De vijftigjarige Amsterdammer met Surinaamse roots leidde de Saudi’s sinds de zomer van 2011. Anti-government activists in Bahrain say police have fired tear gas and stun grenades to disperse hundreds of protesters in the Gulf kingdom's capital, Manama.
