Veel is er nog niet bekend over de kalender van het volgende Formule 1-seizoen. Eén ding echter wel: de openingsrace is in Melbourne, en niet in Bahrein. Volgens Formule 1-medewerker Adam Cooper is dat een van de weinig dingen die Bernie Ecclestone vooralsnog heeft losgelaten aan de Formule 1-teams.
