KP football team wins 3-match series in Bahrain

  • Friday, November 27, 2015 – Peshawar—Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Football team won three matches series against leading club of Bahrain Al-Tad-Aman when it securing a comfortable 5-0 victory in the last match played at Manama International Football Complex, Bahrain.

    It is worth mentioning here that the Malik Saad Sports Trust team consisting on players hailing from KP, is currently on a seven-day visit to Bahrain for a three matches series.

    In the last matches KP team, having a bunch of youngsters, got a lead in the 5th minute when center striker Salahuddin netted a fine goal. KP team having a goal lead till the end of the first session and it was the second session when KP team scored four more goals through Sohail Khan (66th minute), Salahuddin (75th minute).

    When the tally was 3-0 in favour of KP team against Al-Tadaman club, KP team put in more pressure and got full control over the match. It was in the 80th and 83rd minutes when Waseem and Umair scored one goal each to make the tally 5-0.

    After winning the last match of the three matches Series KP team won the Series with 2-1. Talking to APP on phone former national team skipper and coach of the team Basit Kamal said that the victorious team will be reaching Peshawar on Friday after winning the Series.

    A warm welcome awaits the team at Qayyum Sports Complex on Friday at 4.00 pm, an official of the Malik Saad Sports Trust Shakil-ur-Rehman informed.

    He said the team created history of winning three matches series against a strong club of Bahrain. He disclosed that the team consisting on young blood and after victory they proved their selection made on merit.—APP
