Aufgrund des Widerstands der arabischen Nachbarstaaten Bahrain und Abu Dhabi muss Katar vorerst auf ein Formel-1-Rennen verzichten.

Die beiden Gastgeber der Königsklasse haben laut F1-Boss Bernie Ecclestone ein Veto eingelegt.

“Als das Angebot für dieses Rennen kam, habe ich die Leute dort zusammengebracht und gesagt: Könnt ihr das unter euch regeln? Es ist ihnen nicht gelungen”, wird der 84-Jährige am Freitag in britischen Medien zitiert.
